Victor Narvaez
There's only a handful of Artisans who can feel proud to have worked under William Spratling. Considered in Mexico as the father of the modern jewelry industry in the country. He arrived in Taxco, in the late 1920's and by the mid 30's, he set up the first jewelry shop in the town.
Victor Narvaez's father arrived at Spratling's Shop when he was a boy and started working as an apprentice. He became an expert with the Inlaid technique William used for his designs using Sterling Silver and Rosewood.
After Spratling closed his shop in 1945, Victor's father went on working solo with the designs and technique he had mastered under Spratling. He worked independently and taught his son so that he could help him. Victor also came to master the technique and now loves working with the Wood. In addition to making Rosewood Jewelry with Inlaid Silver, he makes other beautiful pieces like Dominoes and Canes.
Victor Narvaez passed in 2012, but his son, who is also named Victor, continued with the tradition and is still working with the technique.
